We will arrange to learn your first song given appropriate notice. However, there maybe circumstances where this is not possible and an MP3 played through our PA system can be used as an alternative.

Our usual playing time is 8pm to 12am, with a half hour break that normally coincides with the buffet however talk to us to discuss your starting and ending times
Please note:If the band are scheduled to begin at 8pm and the event is running late through no fault of our own, we are under no obligation to perform past midnight but we usually play a bit longer for no extra cost depending if the venue will allow this.
How long to you take to set up your equipment?
We require about 45 min to set up our equipment, sound check and change. However, this time depends on access to the stage area and any hold ups out with our control. We usually will arrive at the venue no later than one hour prior to starting but contact us if you require us to arrive and set up earlier we are always happy to accommodate at no extra cost .

How do we book?
A deposit is required to secure your date and we will send you a booking confirmation.
Can I provisionally book?
We appreciate you may not want to commit to booking a band until you hear them live, and would recommend you listen to any band before you book, however we receive several booking enquiries each week and we can only secure a date with a confirmation of a booking/deposit. Unlike some other bands, we guarantee that what you hear on our website is what you will hear live.
Can we hear you play live?
Yes you can however there area couple of issues you may want to consider.
a. We specialise in performing at weddings, parties and corporate events and therefore do not play pubs and clubs. We always ask permission from our client's to let you into the event to hear us and this is usually not a problem as most bride and grooms understand the difficulty hearing a band perform can be. Contact us for details, check our website for testimonials and ask for showcase details
What if the band split up before my wedding?
Don’t worry this will not happen. We formed Sound Advice for the purpose of playing Weddings and Functions. We invested thousands of pounds on equipment and marketing. We undertook a commitment to fulfil all our bookings and are planning to be playing for many many years.
Do I need to pick the songs you play from your set-list?
No, we have a set list which is designed to cater for all age groups and is played in a particular order. We occasionally alter the set list depending on how your guests are reacting on the night. In other words we read the crowd and play to suit the mood. If there is a particular song or songs on our set-list you want us to play, we will make sure we play them.
Helpful Tips & Sound Advice
Wedding entertainment is as equally as important as booking a venue, hiring the cars and buying a wedding dress. The evening’s reception is a chance for you and your guests to celebrate your marriage.
We have years of experience at performing at weddings and we would like to offer our advice on picking a band.
1. Consider what type of songs a band play. Look at their set list and check that the songs they play are popular, cover a wide age range from 60 to present day and one’s people can dance too. Remember, you will have a wide age range of guests, so don’t just pick a band that play songs you like!
2. Some bands will tell you that they are 100% live and give the impression that it’s not a real band if they use backing tracks. This is simply not true. What matters is how the band sound and how well they reproduce their songs to sound like the original.
3. Don’t leave booking a band to the last minute. Try and book a year in advance if possible.
5. Most bands have had years of experience at playing weddings. They will know the best venues to play at, the ideal starting and ending times and how best to get a crowed going. So use that experience and ask for their advice to get the best from your reception.
6. Don’t allow your guest's to pester a band for them to get up and sing. This can have an impact on the atmosphere and can lead to other guests moving into another area. However if you require someone to sing or play an instrument, please check with the band first and arrange prior to your reception.
7. Bands need time to set up their equipment. Depending on the amount of equipment a band has, this can range from 30 minutes to an hour. If a band can’t get access to set up due to your wedding running late, you should expect a later start time and they are under no obligation to perform later than the time agreed. So don’t let those speeches go on and on.
